BEST BOOKS TO LEARN 8051

on Saturday, 21 September 2013
I have explained all the fundamentals of the 8051 in simple way as far as i can. Its just the beginning of your learning, no website will give you total knowledge but they will give the brief idea to deal with. So, its on you to learn by doing projects. The only way to learn something is to do them practically. In my further posts i will deal with more sophisticated microcontroller i.e PIC from basics to advanced projects. But still you want to stick to 8051 then you have many resources to do so. The best way is to refer the books which i'm going to suggest you next.

BOOK 1:
BOOK NAME: "The 8051 Microcontroller & Embedded System Book"
EDITION        :  Second Edition.
AUTHORS      : Muhammad Ali Mazidi, Janice Gillispie Mazidi Rolin, D. Mckinlay
COMMENTS : The best best and best book on 8051 on this planet. Its the pretty much useful book for the beginners who want to start from basics. I suggest every Embedded programmer should have this book.
One more advantage of this books is that, it not only explained assembly language but also C language.

BOOK 2:
BOOK NAME : "Embedded Systems & Robots, Projects using the 8051 Microcontroller"
AUTHOR       : Subrata Ghoshal.
COMMENTS  : After learning from the 1st book, next is to do projects based on 8051 microcontroller. In this regard, the best book is this book. It have few robotic projects and other projects using various sensors. You will get experience on interfacing simple sensors and doing various projects. I suggest you to read this book only after reading the first book which i have suggested you above.

After you go through these books and do few projects then you yourself will do more advanced projects on 8051. Before i end this post i want to suggest you few important tips

  • After you start don't stop at some point if you feel it difficult , in fact there is nothing like 'difficult' when we understand it well.
  • Go step by step, dont directly jump to the top stair. First crawl then walk then run.
  • Until and unless you do things with your hand you cant learn it, so prefer doing practically. If not possible do virtually atleast.
  • Be with the passion to learn which you want to learn, without your self interest you cant achieve anything.
  • Lastly, all the best.

From the next posts we will concentrate on the PIC microcontroller and its programming from basics using C language.
