READING AND UNDERSTANDING DATASHEET

Before we proceed to advanced projects we need to understand few important things like,  what actually mean by datasheet? What is the necessity of it? How can we understand them clearly? so on...
I'll make this post short & simple as I can, so lets see one after the other.

WHAT IS DATASHEET & ITS NECESSITY?
Datasheet is similar to that of  'user manual' of the device i.e. when you buy any electronic device tv, Ac, etc then you would have seen a 'user manual' along with it, which contains how to operate, what are the precautions need to be taken, and so on. Similarly when we want to interface any device to our microcontroller  we should know its specifications, its voltage rating, its working protocol(rules), its timing diagrams, its dimensions(in case of pcb making), and other details will be available in that particular device's datasheet. All the information about the device will be included in it. Each device has its own data sheet which we can download it from internet for free.
So it's obvious that we need to check the datasheet for the better understanding of the part, but it's not easy to understand datasheet and most of the time its confusing. So, now lets have a look on which is the important  data we need to check from datasheet.

PIN DIAGRAM:
First we should know the purpose of the each pin  and most importantly its numbering. For example for every DIP(Dual Inline Package) IC first pin will starts from the left side of the notch.


VOLTAGE RANGES:
It  is the most necessary to check the working voltage of the device because if we exceed the input voltage then the device will be burned out. I still remember when I have burned my first microcontroller and I can't forget the pain of losing it.

TIMING DIAGRAM:
Timing diagram is the graphical way of representing the exact output behavior of the logical circuit for every possible set of input conditions.
Its very lengthy to explain working of the device in terms of words so manufacturers explain in timing diagrams, if we can able to understand the timing diagram then we can easily make use of it. I heard in pakistan youtube is banned but you have one option , you can view youtube videos from proxy sites, just search in google you will get many sites from which you can watch youtube videos
